SWATCH 3
Exploration of the myth that revolves around the sun god RA and beetle goddess Kephri.
So, the myth is like Kephri used to purify the soul of Ra and and used to bring him back to life that's why the beetle has a great significance..so the Regeneration or there rebirth. After exploring, few motif came to my mind one of them is Flower as it is a new beginning a new offspring itself, its sprouts can associate with beetle in terms of flower.
And yes it is made up of BURNT SPOON HEADS
SWATCH 2
My swatch is inspired by beetle shape...where i have used bottle caps and its uneven edges gives the look of beetle.Beetle are originally black in color, thus the shape and color. i have used golden and blue Nail polish as the color splash to contradict the rigidity which comes in Egyptian symbols. contradicting hieroglyphs as these symbols are rigid. This gives an all together an abstract look inspired by Egypt. P.S. The whole idea is to present this swatch with inspiration of Egyptian symbols and other elements in a different way.

UDJAT

BEETLE
The particular species of beetle represented in the numerous ancient Egyptian amulets and works of art was commonly the large sacred scarab (Scarabaeus sacer). This beetle was famous for his habit of rolling balls of dung along the ground and depositing them in its burrows. The female would lay her eggs in the ball of dung. When they hatched, the larvae would use the ball for food. When the dung was consumed the young beetles would emerge from the hole.

Glimpse of History
The Egyptians themselves affirm that their history began with the realm of osiris. Osiris, god-king and man is remembered as a king of immense goodness and wisdom, who taught them how to profit from damage wreaked by the floods, how to keep the destruction of the dessert perticular and with the wise Thoth taught them writing and art.Thoth was one of the deities of the Egyptian pantheon, he was often depicted as a man with the head of an ibis or a baboon, animals sacred to him.
The Egyptians say that it was god Thoth who taught them writing during the reign of Osiris. |
"Osiris...was successively god of the Nile, a life-giver, a sun-god, god of justice and love, and finally a resurrected god who ruled in the afterlife.... |
